In 1953-55 Advance came out with a Black Version of their Wanda Walker and called her Maybelle the Walking Doll. Her box was green with Red and Black letters that read "Maybelle the Walking Doll" She was only made for two years and now is sought out by collectors to be the most rarest of any Advance Doll. She resembles a Wanda doesn't she? That because she is. Her flesh tone was darkened from the normal Wanda doll. Advance decided to make a black doll, but to keep costs down, used Wanda to do so.
